Wolsztyn depot
Wolsztyn.

Join me on a visit to the steam locomotive depot in the Polish town of Wolsztyn. This is one of the last places where steam locomotives operate regular passenger trains. In 2013 I took a local train, two steam-heated carriages hauled by locomotive number Ol 49-59, from Poznań to Wolsztyn. After arrival in Wolsztyn the locomotive was taken to the depot for some maintenance work before returning to Poznań a few hours later.

It is possible to have a look around the depot and see the mechanics at work preserving and running the collection of historic trains. Check out the depot's website for more information and timetables of the steam trains.
